Current areas of work in this regard include:
- Investigation of the genetics of tracheobronchomalacia in dogs and children in collaboration with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.
- Transplantation of the insulin gene to treat diabetes in dogs in collaboration with the Universities of Cambridge and Sydney
- Investigation of markers for brain tumours in dogs and man in collaboration with the University of Sussex
- Research into the link between food allergies and epilepsy in dogs
- Improved methods of pain control
